They also serve as resources for our friends in the local media, emphasizing our Traditions of anonymity, singleness of purpose and non-affiliation, as well as offering A.A. public service announcements to radio and television stations. Accessibilities Committee
Accessibility issues apply to all alcoholics who have difficulty participating in Alcoholics Anonymous. Throughout the Fellowship, A.A.s are discovering that the common bond of recovery can transcend these access issues, whatever the barrier in receiving the A.A. message may be. A.A. must be accessible to alcoholics with diverse needs. The Accessibilities Committee Chair forms and maintains the District 1 Accessibilities Committee, which is made up of G.S.R.s and other interested members. The Committee develops and maintains a procedure to evaluate meeting places for helping members who require accessibility and to determine accessibility to individual sites.
